"About the content of this (cover) image I cannot say more that I captured it while my friends were kiting and suddenly they focused on some invisible point in space. No one remembers exactly why but I recall the atmosphere on that small hill, it was similar to that of the title song. But the title song itself is not much related to that hill. In fact, the music was performed one year before, in Pecs (Hungary), during the HeadPhone Festival. I was enjoying the great company of Petre Ionutescu and his trumpet and Ciprian Costache (you can see him on the cover, the young man on the right side) and his screwdriver technique, subtly unleashed upon his guitar. We did this jazz-ambient sound-flow by improvising along a generative structure that I was controlling in real-time while processing their output through two Korg KaossPad3 units, to be more precise. Later, the recorded sound reached the ears of Attila Lukinich and he adapted it for speakers without hesitation. After that, the song got a video to mach. Spacelove, the second title on this release, is a piece I've created using the sounds of Memories Of Now, a generative audio-visual installation I made with Michaela Konrad, featuring Eugen Neacsu. This multimedia artwork is currently in permanent display inside the Ars Electronica Center in Linz (Austria) and we presented it's new, updated version just 2 days ago by participating in the Ars Electronica Festival. A new video is under construction, documenting this new live presentation and I'm pretty sure it will be online 7 days from now."

   Moebius Strip - Seven by Moebius Strip (Ro)

Moebius Strip was initiated by Ion Dorobantu (guitar, electronics) and Daniel Dorobantu (electronics, keyboards, visual) after a long string of improvisation sessions starting November 2007 (Timisoara, Romania).

"Seven" is their first single. For the moment it is available for streaming only, through SoundCloud and Myspace.

Guests: MC Tina (vocal, lyrics), Manu (backing vocals), Dan Griober (electric bass, additional guitar, mixing and production).

"Seven" was recorded in Timisoara, at home, inside DStudioPro (Attila Lukinich) and Consonance Studio (Edmond and Jimi).

Thy Veils & Music Alliance Pact

Music Alliance Pact is a project started 2 years ago by the Scottish blogger Jason "The Pop Cop".  It unites music blogs from six continents and around 35 countries. Each blog selects one band from their country, a song to represent it and they describe it in a few words.

On the 15^th of every month, all the blogs post this identical list of all the bands (with their song and info) maximizing their exposure. The result is an international compilation, with different genres, languages and approaches.

From South Africa to England, Colombia to China, Iceland to New Zeeland;  trip-hop to pop, metal to ambient, experimental to world music, you can find it all here.

As Jason said in an interview for The Guardian: "The logic behind MAP is that because each individual blog's regular readers would usually download and listen to the author's recommended songs, they would be more likely to download the MAP songs too, even though their source was another blog entirely".

Babylon Noise is a collective Romanian music blog, started in May 2007 by some friends who wanted to share their favourite music with more people than each other.

It’s not about who released what and who sings when and where, it’s more about those sensations and feelings music creates; about the way a live performance can make you feel. It’s a very subjective music blog, consisting of our opinions about certain songs, bands, videos or shows.

It’s not about news. It’s about moods.

A Headphone Festival is an Gathering of Music Enthusiasts, Musicians, Designers and Listeners who wants to enjoy the Music over Headphones. The Roots of this Idea comes from a group of people from Paris, France. Due the heavy loudness restrictions in the french Capital they wanna to be able to listen to loud music.. and they invented the so called "Placard" Festival. This is more than 10 years ago. This Idea spread over the world. Since 2003 the label privatelektro decided to make an own Headphone Festival in Leipzig based on the idea of the placard Festival. The first Festivals are so called virtual Festivals for the public and a strong theme was the streaming of the music played on the Fest over Internet. The Last Festival, we did intended some modifications. We used small Radio Transmitters and streamed the whole live Event inside a defined Room. The physical location was more important and the social component of the meeting with musicians and listeners. While the whole time of the concert the audience was able to listen over 3 different ways: over Radios, or Mobil Phones with integrated Radio, the provided Sound-Islands who you will be able to plug into a Headphone-Amplifier (who get the signal direct from the main mixer) and of course trough mini-radios with mini earplugs, we provided at the Festival. Every Concert was recorded and some of the concerts are released through the privatelektro as high quality mp3 with a Creative Commons Licence.

Daniel Dorobantu - Knock on the sky and listen to the sound - album review

Daniel Dorobantu is a musician from Romania, whose "Knock on the Sky and listen to the Sound" is a peaceful, dreamy journey with strong Zen-inspired and contemplative elements.

Recorded in 2007 and 2008, the music (split into seven tracks) uses generative electro and acoustic techniques, ending up in a peculiar mixture of bell and environmental sounds next to abstract/experimental edged drone tapestries.

Together they lead the way into vibrant, atmospheric and immersive spaces of wonder, although I wouldn't call the outcome a contemplative, soothing affair. The almost eerie, hypnotizing vibe in the highly improvised and edgy music is the reason for that.
So mind this ambient adventure is not something for the faint hearted.

Pe data de 24 ianuarie, in selecta locatie The Silver Church Club, Calea Plevnei Nr.61, organizatorii Kogaionon & DonisArt prezinta, in premiera, o Seara Speciala dedicata elitei muzicale underground autohtone!

Prima alegere se numeste THY VEILS iar Daniel Dorobantu, mentorul acestui concept, a decis ca pentru aceasta seara sa aduca sub lumina reflectoarelor si pe cativa din colaboratorii cu care a realizat ultimul album. Este vorba de “Mountain And Cloud”, un CD ce a aparut oficial chiar astazi si despre care puteti afla toate detaliile, inclusiv audio, pe http://thyveils.bandcamp.com. Este un material conceptual, ce insumeaza 4 piese, cca o ora, care dezvolta o aura Landscape Music remarcabila! Puteti asculta, in cel mai inspirat si inedit mod, o combinatie stranie de keyboards cu chitara, trompeta, instrumente de percutie indiene, didgeridoo si chiar voci feminine! Sunetul THY VEILS dezvolta o dimensiune misterioasa, greu de patruns sau perceput la o ascultare superficiala insa perfecta pentru meditatie sau evadare din cotidian! Efectul minimalist al unor instrumente sau sample-uri pune in valoare si mai mult armonia acestui concept muzical care se bazeaza in egala masura si pe latura vizuala, Daniel fiind un artist incontestabil ce stie sa manipuleze imaginea in cea mai abstracta si, poate, retorica forma!

THY VEILS este primul proiect Dark Ambient infiintat in Romania, in urma cu 15 ani, iar cel de-al 5-lea album dovedeste o maturitate rarisima pentru intreaga noastra scena Dark Ambient. Este un material ce se adreseaza in principal fanilor trupelor promovate de Cold Meat Industry, Rage in Eden, Cyclic Law, Eibon, dar si tuturor celor ce accepta impletirea de muzica si imagine ca pe o reala si introvertita provocare.

DORDEDUH este o trupa infiintata de Hupogrammos si Sol Faur in urma despartirii de NEGURA BUNGET, in vara anului trecut. Este prima oportunitate pentru fanii Black Metal autohton sa vada la lucru acest nou grup timisorean, intr-o formula extinsa cu invitati diversi. A existat si inca exista o intreaga dezbatere despre existenta sau inexistenta unei continuitati conceptuale intre muzica DORDEDUH si NEGURA BUNGET.

Pana acum nimeni nu a avut ocazia sa afle care este adevarul…

Organizatorii au hotarat impreuna cu muzicienii sa arate, in premiera, tuturor fanilor de sonoritati Metal, care este adevarata identitate DORDEDUH!

Desi trupa este la inceput de drum, casa de discuri germana Prophecy Productions le-a oferit deja un contract, albumul de debut urmand sa apara in acest an. Mai mult, in foarte scurt putin timp va aparea si un EP, format din doua piese distincte, ce vor contura barierele stilistice intre care penduleaza muzica celor doi timisoreni.

DORDEDUH doreste sa arate tuturor ca, in ciuda existentei unei scene Black Metal abundente, unde cantitatea este mai importanta decat calitatea, se poate compune si interpreta intr-un mod elegant, profesionist si sincer muzica in care crede!

Va fi un spectacol de imagine si muzica pe durata a 90 de minute, intr-o maniera mai putin intalnita pentru astfel de sonoritati, atat in Romania cat si in Europa!

Asadar, DORDEDUH va aparea pentru prima data pe scena in seara de 24 ianuarie iar posibila sinergie cu THY VEILS o veti putea descoperi doar atunci, fiind, probabil si unica!

Pentru o initiere in universul ECHOES FROM TRANSCENDENCE EVENING, cei interesati pot sa citeasca un interviu cu THY VEILS realizat in urma cu mai bine de 10 ani, ce trateaza insa teme la fel de actuale cu ale noastre vremuri… Aici se va gasi si posibila explicatie pentru Seara Speciala ce sta sa vina…

In jurul orei 19.30 prima trupa va urca pe scena, cea de-a doua urmand sa-si termine reprezentatia dupa ora 22.00.

"The blue mountain is the father of the white cloud. The white cloud is the son of the blue mountain. All day long they depend on each other, without being dependent on each other. The white cloud is always the white cloud. The blue mountain is always the blue mountain."

Inspired by Zen Master Tozan's words, here comes the 5th Thy Veils studio album, entitled "Mountain And Cloud".

Four songs with a total length of about 50 minutes will depict subtle, yet vivid reflexions, filtered through the nature of contemplative states. Blended into the layered whispers that form the music, one can find new things in Thy Veils' art that complement the organic electronics : live recorded improvisations drifting along generative structures of keyboards, voice, electric and acoustic instruments.

Dreaming within this dream and manifesting their spirits, here they are, the beautiful friends: Manuela Marchis and her spectral vocals, Anna Kontridze virtuous and gentle on indian tabla, Ciprian Costache taming the cold wave guitar and Petrica Ionutescu floating on trumpet.

With the sound waves ruled by "the old man" Attila Lukinich and the great hand made artwork by Silver Tzu, the new songs will flow outside the workshop in the next few days.
